hi, I passed my oow course/orals in 2002 but for one reason or another didn't do anything with it - foolishly. Now I've matured lol I realise I made a big mistake what are my options to get back into the game? Any help would be gratefully received.

I'm not sure how it is now, but while I was at college there was a guy on a kind of fast track course who'd got his ticket 25 years previously, he had to do three months in school and sit an orals exam to revalidate his ticket... I can't remember if he needed seatime though or not... he had sailed as a third though, despite it being a pretty long while back... maybe you could contact the MCA or MNTB?

      Hi Hokey

Colleges such as Warsash used to have a refresher course of sorts (I cant find it on their website) but it is worth giving either them or some of the other colleges a call.

From memory it used to be around 6 months (including all the short courses)

Phone MCA Training & Cert people in Southampton and ask them what you need to do in order to revalidate the certificate.

Or have a read of page 9 onwards; http://www.dft.gov.uk/mca/mgn_009(m).pdf
