Does anyone know how to go from OOW unlimited to master 200.

I've looked at the flow diagram on MGN 92 but master 200 doesn't seem to have been mentioned.

Is it just seatime or is there an oral exam too?

I know a guy who worked on Tugs on the Forth, i'm pretty sure he just went from OOW to Master by sitting the oral but i could be wrong.

You can use OOW as prerequisite instead of Yacht Master , I asked the guy who has the Master 200grt and he just did an oral

As said above it's just an oral you need to do. I sat mine in January and it is similar to the OOW oral.

The syllabus is at the bottom of this link

If there's anything you want to know just ask and I'll try to give an answer and good luck!

Thanks, so there is no extra seatime requirement?

No seatime required, just the OOW COC, ENG 1 and GMDSS. You will get the 200 certificate without the area limitation.

is that the same thing as a boat masters licence?
On my first trip on a calmac ferry many of the officers started on deck, then done boat masters licences to command smaller ferries, then done oow watch ticket. Just wondering if it's the same thing or something else?

I think its different to a boatmasters, you can still get a boatmasters licence which is separate from the master 200. I'm not sure how they are different, is the boatmaster area restricted? The 200 licence is either 150nm or unlimited areas where I think there's a bit more options for the boatmasters.
