Hi, What is the travel weight allowance. I am getting a flight down to Southampton which is being organised by my training provider. What weight should my luggage be for the flight and for travelling on ship?

Re: Suitcase/weight
Looking at the BAA Southampton website and all possible flights from Scottish Airports I see only 2 airlines offer direct flights and they are Flybe and Eastern.
Flybe Economy plus is 40kg of luggage (i doubt they'll fly you economy plus) otherwise the limit is 1 bag of no more than 20kgs
Eastern only 15kg per passenger with 10kg max in hand baggage

Re: Suitcase/weight
There are special air travel tickets and conditions (including increased baggage allowances) available for merchant seamen but it depends on whether your company has bought you such a ticket. Alternatively they may pay for an extra baggage allowance in advance, even for economy seats.
