  • Night life in Southampton

Well the question is in the name really. Is there any good bars or clubs in Southampton and even if there is do you have time to go? Far as my understanding there are only a few pubs in Warsash of which i passed on the open day- correct me if im wrong . Just to clarify im not some kind of binge drinking raver, I just like a night out once in a while.

Depends what kind of nightlife you're after...

I have a few people i know in the area and there seems to be a variety of places catering to all tastes in southampton. By all accounts portsmouth is second best for nightlife... but still has reasonable facilities to cater for most people.

the delight of moving to a new city is finding out the best places to go to

I was warned by my uncle who lived in Southampton to stay away from Portsmouth unless you're a fighter, apparently there's always fights going on. But other than that, he told me Southampton should suit my tastes as I'm more of a pub-goer than a clubber.

              only at sea xx

Nah seriously even if you're a street fighting god it probably wouldn't do your career any good getting in fights. I tend to prefer the quieter scene of pubbing as it's away from the trouble, and you can win girls by charm and not just how you look on the dance floor. Plus, I'll be able to impress in my officer uniform

same with most places. blackpool is the same im afraid. many fights either learn to fight or learn to run i prefer a mixture of the two

The problem with street fighting is that usually one person ends up in jail and the other in hospital, it's not like playground stuff which I had my fair share of. Getting a criminal record would probably mean bye-bye to your career.

                              Re: Night life in Southampton

For those talking about Fighting in Portsmouth, as if its some kind of warzone - its really not as bad as you think. At least, no different from any other city. If you go out drinking, there is always the risk of it getting a bit rowdy. I live right in the middle of Portsmouth and Southampton, have been out to both, and you have nothing to worry about - as long as you are sensible yourself.

One piece of advice though - do NOT wear a pompey shirt in So'ton and do NOT wear a Scummer shirt in Pompey. Thats just asking for trouble. Simples.

Looking forward to meeting more of you.
