Pay for FD v HND

Is the pay scale (training allowance) different for FD and HND cadets at college or does it depend on the company?
Reason I ask is because I have got the impression it is from reading through some of the posts in this forum.

In my research so far, I'm yet to see companies that pay as much for HND as for FD. I haven't got all the numbers, but I've got a fair range.
I'm happy to absorb more data by PM for a future wiki article (that will include a giant table scoring different sponsors according to different criteria, based on anonymous surveys).

Hmmm, I haven;t heard of any difference as far as my sponsor is concerned. Seems a bit odd to pay more for FD really, considering the end result is essentially the same and the sea phases are pretty much standardised now?

The likes of Clyde and SSTG seem to pay a set rate, the only sponsor I've seen that makes a fuss of people doing the FD is the RFA.

Yeah FD gets more from trinity house than HND.

What kind of difference are we talking about? Anybody know the figures for SSTG?

Maybe like a grand or so a year.

I think not every company offers a choice between HND and FD though.

SSTG varies quite a bit depending on the company by all account; they are not the same as Clyde, who offer a one-size-fits-all skinflint rate.

i think clyde pay an extra ?10 pound a week for the FD .

SSTG do pay more if i recall from my interview
