Car Park??

Hey there,

I will be arriving at Warsash in September..

I am just wondering if there is ample car parking facilities. The online induction mentions students reserving a parking permit.. However the phone call to a some what confused member of staff seemed to suggest it was a free for all, all of the time.

Could any one please dispel the cloud of confusion cast by the not very helpful staff?

Call up main reception and ask if they can send you a parking form, then send that in with the rest of your accomodation bits, I was able to get one from them when I was there on Friday.

Ok thank you.

Well I called them again, and they simply said on the day I come to move in i will be given a form to fill in and be issued one on the day on a first come first serve basis..

We shall see

When you arrive just park in the car park and pick up a parking permit form from the reception - they give you a sticker to put in your car. Car parking is limited - if your staying on campus you'll be fine, but between 8 - 5 mon - fri the car park is usually full - so get there first

There is generally enough parking for all students living on site. The car park has just been enlarged and when you arrive there should be plenty of space. Just collect a permit from reception.

As aslistair says, during the week it gets full but since the renovation, even during the week you will find a space somewhere

I think if it gets really bad just stick your car in a space and say you are getting a pass... worked at school xP

Only probelm is they don't know if it will come in for September or not!

i have not heard anything about charging but it wouldnt surprise me one bit!

Charging to park your car??? You pay rent to live there.. parking your car should be included.. would that suggest if I do not pay to park my car will get clamped??

To answer my own question:

after a brief phone-call this afternoon i was delighted to discover that motorbikes have there own dedicated parking area and we only have to sign the reg plate in...

they realise that we have nowhere to stick the a fore mentioned item and i'm sure they are most certainly not taking suggestions
