  • Warsash parking

    Hi everyone,

Apparently warsash has issued all of their parking permits for this year , is there anywhere I can park my car for at least a week ?

I have no idea what the protocols are for it, but when I was there last year for a course I had noted that the surrounding estate was pretty much residential, so I should have thought that if you parked considerately you should be able to find somewhere to park up?

Another possibility is to do a gumtree/google search for parking spaces, a lot of people these days will hire out driveways etc if they are not using them, normally for quite a reasonable sum?

Hi I have just left Warsash in July to go on my second sea phase.

They have started to tighten up on the parking at Warsash as there is not a lot of it, however I found if you get the before 8am in the morning or at the weekend and not in your car so worse they can do is put a leaflet on the car( there is a car that has been there a year and has 4 flat tyres but they can't remove it).

There is an overflow car park up the road which you can park in called Salterns social club but this is only available in the day about 5 minute walk from the college.

There are some public car parks near the clock tower which as far as know have no parking restrictions.

This has worked for me for the last 4 months but not sure if they have new plans for September(if they have we have not been made away of it)

I like Warsash a lot, but the parking issue drives me mad and would deter me from doing short courses there in the future. They really need to come up with a solution.

Yeah it's been getting worse because at least when I did my cadetship they didn't have the watersports centre and you could park on the grass up the hills!

It's even worse now that they've built a new building in the lower car park (next to water sports centre) housing some new classrooms though they have ripped down those horrible green wooden things.

Looks like ill just park at the social club and walk down when I'm there at end of October

Do people know if you can leave your car overnight at this social club i.e. actually keep your car there all term and just walk from campus?

Unless the situation at WMA has drastically changed (and it might have it's been 5 years since I was there as a cadet) - the car parks at the college are normally deserted at the weekends and in the evenings, thus, worst case - you could move your car to the social club mon - fri, then to the campus at the weekends / evenings?

No big change to that apart from the fact that they may be installing barriers which means no permit = no entry.

                      Barriers not seen yesterday though.
