Well, this is the Plymouth Forum and the OP is looking for sponsorship for Plymouth, which works a little differently to most other cadetships, so the people doing it are probably best equipped to be able to answer the question!

Ah so it is the Plymouth Forum (I never saw that...)...

Well, generically, there is SSTG, Clyde Marine, Meridien, Cruise companies, etc

Greetings from 'the Plymouth chaps'. This year there are a few SSTG, Clyde and a solitary Maersk cadet but give the sponsors a shout and see if they do send people down this way would be my advice.

Hellooo, traditionally Plymouth students have been predominantly SSTG with a few CMA CGM and Maersk but that's on the honours degree route, not sure if the dynamic for sponsorship has changed since the introduction of the FdSc route.

I'm with SSTG, on the whole they're ok, getting all your seatime in generally takes longer with them than going straight with a shipping company and you can end up sat at home twiddling your thumbs during your sea phase sometimes but getting trips on different types of ships has helped my decide where I want to be when I'm qualified big time.

All the people I know personally who've gone to Plymouth (well, eh, that's one person) have been with SSTG. Paccship in his case.

You can apply to SSTG first and they'll give you help towards the medical after, or so it was last year. Don't been to concerned about the application its just the normal and when you go for the interview Steve is a nice guy so just relax, it turns into a general chat.

Also can you do HNC / HND here?
