Does anyone know the start date for engineers at STC? I'm on the HNC course.

I am on the HNC aswell mate, just got the call this morning. It's either the 3rd or the 9th, he seems to think it's the 9th though.

The food is ok, was taken over by sodexo in the summer so I hear it's much better than it was, as I say its' ok not amazing, I have had worse on Navy bases haha, it is luck of the draw really, breakfast is either fried breakfast or a cold one I have started eating breakfast in the hall though as I like my sleep. alot of people complain about the food but you gotta try it for yourself and decide really. But as I have said it's meant to have improved alot compared to what it was.Be what you want to be not what other people tell you to be

what do you mean?
if you mean your company pays, then you don't worry about rent the likes of SSTG etc pay your rent, so you could say your food is free. But if you are paying the rent out your wages like most other companies then when you give them the 4x112 a month then 4x47 of that is on your food (Breakfast and Dinner) lunch is up to you to findBe what you want to be not what other people tell you to be

Oh right i think i get it. I'm with SSTG so i'm pretty sure my rent and food (other than lunch, like you said) are paid for directly to the college, and the money that goes into my bank is separate from it all.Comment

Just a quick note on eating etc, We are to hand our key cards in during the week to be reprogrammed they are starting a new system. Basically we are given ?6.80 a day to spend on these cards, it works in the refectory, costa coffee and the 1861 club, so Basically if you don't eat breakfast in the refectory then you have ?6.80 to spend on dinner and whatever else you may want through the day, which is how it will work for me as I eat in the halls got my own stuff. Although it doesn't roll over to the next say it re starts every day, so if you don't use it you loose it.Be what you want to be not what other people tell you to be
