Halls

Hi there, does anybody know what the situation is with the Dr. Winterbottom Halls as I have been hearing around they are full, my entire application was done very late however I have been given an offer to start in September and I have been hurrying around getting stuff done only to find out the Halls are full. I was under the impression phase one cadets were near enough made to stay in Halls and finding a flat with no mates to flat share would be costly and difficult with such short notice.

I am unable to contact both clyde and the Halls due to it being a saturday and a bank holiday so im hoping maybe you guys could shed some light.

Oh and one last thing, sorry to be a nuisance but I was given the Doctor to make an appointment with in Middlesborough however he is away until wednesday, what would happen if i was unable to complete my ENG1 by the start of term?

All you can do mate is ring the halls office on Tuesday, only they know how full it is. Regarding the ENG1 I'm sure if you phoned Clyde on Tuesday they would give you some leeway on this, the ENG1 is essential for your sea phase but it doesnt impair your learning ability at college.

Things might have changed, but chances are not much would happen if you hadn't done your ENG1. Just so long as you have done it sooner rather than later, although you are best asking your sponsor.

I'm in the same situation as you, my ENG1 is booked for the 8th and I start stc on the 5th, but my doctor said they do alot of work with Clyde and it should be fine as I'm getting it sorted within the next week or two. As to the halls I'm still waiting for my joining info so I'm gonna give the halls a call tomorrow

Spoke to Clyde today and they have told me that the Halls are fully booked unless you are under 18 so thats me screwed, luckily i have found some accommodation i should be able to rent but how soon i can do it i dont know. As for the ENG1 the doctor I have been given is on holiday so i need to make another appointment tomorrow so hopefully get that done sooner rather than later

Yeah the ENG1 shouldn't be an issue long as you have it before your sea phase, I live down the road from the college but I'm under 18 so I'm assuming I'l have a room, if not I'l just stay at home, even better. Where abouts is the accommodation if you don't mind me asking?

Ah right that will be good then, I just want to get it out the road asap really. And its on beach road, called ridge house, you heard?

Haha not bad, to be honest I am just pleased I have found somewhere because it was either that, or a commute from hartlepool everyday via public transport!

That wouldn't have been fun at all, did you get joining info with the numbers for the college and things?

Not yet, I sent my visa and stuff off on saturday so im expecting it tomorrow maybe, i applied so very late i have so much to prepare still.

I'm commuting from Guisborough everyday so I could have just picked you up on my way up bud and saved on travelling costs!
