  • Xbox/Playstation at STC?

Does anybody have a xbox or playstation in the winterbottom halls? and if so can you play online through the wifi?

if not i might aswell sell both before coming to college,

    cheers.

Last year they had the Comms port blocked and were firm that it would not be openned as its a major virus target, the supporting arguement being that the Wifi is there as a study aid. Still handy to pass some of the weekend with in the common rooms.
you can take it with a pinch of salt, but i prefer it with a nip of whisky

Aye ETwhat is right, the comms port is still blocked and when we had a tenents 'meeting' (which was more the halls management justifying thier questionable rules) they flat out refused to open the comms port or relax some of the filters on the internet.

RNR: they obviously dont know the song 'the internet is for porn'
with such great lines as 'just double click and grab your ***'

Haha well from what I remember someone shouted "You either need to let us have access to porn or allow girls to stay over in our rooms". They laughed it off but I don't think they were too happy.

Yeah as much as they can, i know people who couldnt get family members in to see them whilst my bf walked in with out any issue after dark on a friday night as the security was off doing something else, its a bit of a ****ing joke but just grit your teeth and get through it.

Although i always found the generaly excuss of your training for a life at sea and you wont be able to get visitors then a bit ****, mainly as yeah we spend large chunks of our time as a cadet at sea so why not get the benifit of being on land when you are.

I'm afraid all your doing is covering old ground that every years residents will have fought against aswell.

As the lyrics go "We fought the law and the law won". Don't worry though, after staying there for phase 1 you won't be wanting to stay again in phase 3 hahaha
