Were any of you oldies at STC circa 1978?? Im reading a book just now written by a guy who was at the college around that time, talks about some of the lecturers and some of the goings on. Might be a good read for you lads!

I wasn't there at that time but some of the lecturers sounded very familiar. In case you haven't guessed yet, he was a Bank Line apprentice! -

The lecturers sounds a lot different to what we have now anyway, I liked the story about every smoking in class! A bit far fetched?!Comment

We had some proper hard nosed old school blokes for lecturers when I was there, had one (old) bloke who'd even been at sea during WW2 and worked as a lecturer part time to give him something to do during retirement. He was a very tough, old fashioned bloke, but he had some great stories.
Regarding smoking, you have to remember that before it became 'unhealthy' you could smoke just about everywhere, which included indoors in most buildings.Comment

Jumping ships is the sequel to Ocean Boulevard which was previously called Pacific Highway.
