  • Fleetwood September 2015

    Hey Everyone,

Recently got a sponsorship with trinity house, they said I'm more than likely to get placed in Fleetwood for September 2015 ..?? Anyone else know they are starting then?

    Heya!

I should be heading up to sunny Fleetwood in september too. Congrats on getting the sponsorship! I'll be a deck cadet for an offshore company so we'll probably share the same classes.

Sharing classes will depend entirely on whether you're both following the same course: FD or HND. The two groups don't mix.

Wouldn't you still be possibly still be in the same accommodation block? Or are you really segregated I'll be doing the HND course anyway.

I'm on the hnd course too. And I guess it makes sense you wouldn't share classes since the qualification is different. I just assumed there'd be some overlap.

What happens if the cadets escape their fenced area and start mixing with the others? 😉

Accomodation is mixed, although they do keep the under 18s together regardless of course. I've had no shared lessons with the HND group but shared maths with the FD Engineers.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

It's fine, I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast and one additional meal included in price, possible over priced but you won't get anywhere with that argument at college as it's actually a fair price. So they say.

Hi There All & Seafox, and everyone else

I'm currently studying & staying at Fleetwood, started this January, and will be more than happy to answer any questions you have, in reason to my limited knowledge
Just note I'm an Engine Cadet so deck specific questions I might not be able to help with.
Anything you have heard about the accommodation is.... true, the rooms are quite small, but I find that there is plenty of space, if you are organised. Food is good as well, which surprised me...

                            Thanks,
                            Ty

                              Heya Ty!

The accommodation looks like my old uni halls. Four walls, bed and a sink which is fine by me. I was wondering if the college caters for vegetarians/vegans? I'm big on my food and the idea of not being able to cook for myself is making me antsy!

I was also wondering if you could recommend a decent gym? I've seen a few online but it's hard to gauge what they're like.

                              Thanks again!
