Fleetwood age?

I've been looking at the different colleges, and I've found that Fleetwood is probably the most convenient for me (I'm nearly there with getting my sponsorship from CMT and they said that Fleetwood would most probably be one of the options) but now I'm hearing from some people that they have an age limit of eighteen? Is this true? I'll only be sixteen when I start my training?:/

Rubbish, there's several under 18's in halls at the minute!

Yeah there are 4 in my class anyways. And I know a couple of phase 3 who are still under 18 so that's complete bollocks

What you may all be getting confused with are the new MLC regulations regarding under 18s working on ship. Various restrictions apply such as no night working etc. Use the search bar and you'll find more information.

The MLC regualtions do restrict under 18's working at night, however it also says that regualtion shouldn't get in the way of training requirements; as in watchkeeping time!

Irrelevant to this thread, but worth knowing if you are under 18.
