Re: College Check List
Ok, Fleetwood I can help with... no need to bring an iron, there's a room on the second floor with about 6 (+ boards), the launderette is downstairs. If you can find one, a mini fridge and a kettle are a good plan, a lot of people just hang milk and various munchables out of their window (tradition decrees an ASDA bag), which works well in winter, in summer however, I fear you would end up with cheese! Don't bring a lot of crap, cos the cells, sorry, rooms, are tiny. A tv is good if you want to be able to watch things YOU like, and be able to hear them properly, and it is nice to curl up in bed and watch **** tv when you're hungover on a sunday! Failing that, a laptop, the college connection is free, but there will be a lot of people using it so streaming doesn't really work, unless you like that little rotating icon every minute or so. You'll be off camping the first weekend you're there, tents, sleeping bags and roll mats are all provided, but remember to bring some good walking boots and appropriate quantities of clothing for the time of year (we joined in January..... Brrrrrrrrrrr!!!).
Get yourself a scientific calculator (casio), a 30 cm ruler and parallel rules and dividers (ask your company if they provide those two first though) 2b pencils, and a roting pencil (the clicky type) is very useful too. Pens, obviously.... running out of ideas now, but any questions do just ask!

Re: College Check List
Breakfast and dinner are included in the halls fees, lunch is not. At the weekend you get brunch and dinner. There are no cooking facilities for cadets, you're not even allowed toasters in your cells, *rolls eyes at the stupidity of it all* Nearest supermarket is ASDA, up in town, it's open 24 hrs. I live about halfway between it and college and it takes me 5-10 minutes to get each way on my bike, 15- 20 if you're walking, I think it's about a 30 min walk from college to the town centre.

Re: College Check List
if your at fleetwood instead of heading to asda head the other way to the next big roundabout and theres a morrisons.
if you head up the road towards fleetwood thers a tesco express within a 5 min walk and if you continue up the road take a right at the big church and theres and aldi and a blockbuster. not to mention the co-op two minitue walk away from the college and the chippy and two other shops. theres also a spar and a bargain booze within walking distance.Maybe I will never be
All the things that I want to be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
