    Alreet.

So got an email from CMT telling me the uniform i will be supplied with and only need to provide black shoes and black trousers. Does it matter what kind of troos and shoes i go for? Or do they have to specifically come from CMT's clothing website?

Was just going to ASDA George those bad boys like.

    Nik,

Absolutely go for ASDA or similar, machine wash trousers, permanent crease, bomb proof cheapies.

Shoes - go for something comfortable, possibly an "airwear" sole for comfort. Personally I would spend more on the shoes than the trousers.

As you are an engineer I would go for velcros or slip ons - those shoe laces can be so pesky to tie!

Aye, I spent my entire cadetship at Glasgow in a mixture of George and Tesco Trousers!! (That is, when I wore uniform. It is quite amusing to watch progression in Glasgow, cause all 1st Phase Cadets will be dressed to the T, then 2nd Phase cadets are a bit more relaxed, then the 3rd phase Engineers just stop wearing uniform full stop!! There was a bit of a change in senior staff just after I left though, so may well have changed now.)

Nah it's still pretty lax. Tbh there are plenty things that I would put higher up the list of stuff needing improved before I got to their uniform policy.

I think it's pretty universal; uniform standards drop as the cadetship progresses!

Perhaps it is my age but I found myself agreeing with you - Love the Hush Puppies, and some of the Clarke's "Airwears" are brilliant.
