living accommodation for 2013 intake?

curious as to where the new starts and existing cadets will be living this year as alcatraz is being demolished this summer and st lukes has been booked out for a year!

heard a rumour clyde were maybe going to use college lands ?

or anyone making there own plans?

I just had a look at College Lands and it doesn't look to bad. Anyone had any experience there? Also on the website it doesn't say if its catered or self catering?

Pretty sure they are using college lands. No idea what it is like but sure it is infinately better than Alcatraz!

Never been in them before or anything but I did walk past them on the way to Dennistoun last month.

They are up the top of High Street near Strathclyde University , brand new building.

Id imagine they would be self catered as they just look like Private Halls , much like 'Unite' buildings.

Think I'm going to book them but the only problem is the start day for College Lands is the 14th of September? I reckon my HND course will start before that. Will College Lands be accommodate for this situation?

Well my older brother stayed in private halls in Aberdeen when he was doing a placement in summer.

I'd imagine they'll have a similar policy for foreign/summer students wherein you pay extra to live the extra weeks in summer ... if that makes sense?

Basically you can start earlier but have to pay extra for the weeks before term time...

Haha do you mean it's a rough area or it just generally not very scenic?

When is the main college getting demolished? I take it classes will be taken in the Seamanship Center and in other campuses of the COGC.
