Not likely on typical (i.e. low) wages though. Does depend on what sort of arrangements and deals you can come to. I lived in some nice flats as a cadet, through a bit of networking, by renting otherwise empty flats from people I knew or was introduced to. You could sub-let whilst at sea. Also depends on what you mean by "city centre" - a lot of cadets stayed in Bridgeton and a few in Dennistoun. Easy walking distance from the college, but not Gorbals or dead centre.

Re: flats
It depends, if you're with Clyde there's a good chance you'll be able to get a flat in first phase, quite a few cadets in my phase got flats within the first few weeks with people they'd only just met, quite a risk though seems to have worked out well for all of the ones I know.
That said I understand they had no choice as there was an error where Clyde was meant to reserve them a space in the halls but didn't so they were getting evicted, I wouldn't advise only booking college accom for a month in the assumption you'll meet someone and get a flat incase it doesn't work out

Re: flats
Yeh plus the college tends to take advantage of fresh faced cadets. I wanted out of my 9 month contract at the halls within 1 week. They told me it would all have to be paid. I played hardball by questioning them about their waiting list, which was about 25 people. I won. I even got my deposit back and only had to pay 2 weeks worth of rent. Score!
