      Hi there,

I'm from Cornwall and am starting a deck cadetship jan 2021 with Chiltern. Has anyone at the uni got a car? I was planning to drive up from Cornwall but am struggling to find parking and any advice would be welcome. I?m being offered Riverside accommodation - I think St Luke?s & it?s parking are full . . .

When I was at an open day, I was told to not worry about bringing my own car and it's in the city centre of a big city and is 5-10 minute walk from the shopping centre

I'm at Glasgow at the moment and a few of the guys have a car which they park a few streets away which seems to work for them. As Adders said you don't need a car since your right in the city, however if you want to get out and explore Scotland then it will certainly help having a car. However it is a long bleddy way to drive, have you thought about flying from Newquay and changing at Heathrow, only takes about 4-5 hours with a bit of a wait at Heathrow but far quicker and cheaper than driving or catching the train, normally between 100-120 return.

There is a street right beside the college called Florence street with free parking but its limited spaces at peak times. I travelled from NI to glasgow in september, filled up in NI and didnt need to put any more petrol in my car til I drove home for Christmas. Theres next to no need for a car at college other than getting to and from. But if you're from cornwall, it will be easier to fly.
