Does anybody have any pictures or videos of the accommodation on riverside campus. Looking to start in September but can't see how big ( or small!) the rooms are
    Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that, the accommodation is single rooms that are en suite but can't see any pictures except for the guy sat at a desk, would be really grateful for other images of the bedrooms

My son was in Riverside accommodation during his first phase, i cannot provide you with the photos but i can answer your questions concerning the room. It is definitely not big, rather compact, but sufficient enough and comfortable. When you enter there is ensuite on the right side, on the left side there is fitted wardrobe with shelves and along the whole wall there are shelves, storage space, the desk ( that you see on the photo), on the right side there is fitted bed with the storage underneath. There is not much space between the bed and the wall units/desk, enough for a chair and a passage. The bed is almost double size though. My son was very happy there, i am sure you will be as well. All the best!

Remember they have ripped down "Alcatraz" (about 20 years overdue) and have shiny new halls now. I would imagine they would be quite nice since they are only a couple of years old, not been in them myself like. Hope they have changed catering suppliers since I was there though. Mouldy bread for breakfast and curry for dinner every night...lovely!

If you stay in flats some of the rooms are double rooms and quite large. They don't charge extra but assign them at random.

It is self catered nowadays, so more like burned toast in the morning and pot noodles in the evening...

The new building was built over the old site. It is pretty bog standard to be honest i went to them a few times last year and they seemed decent enough. I think they are around £120 a week which i personally think is a bit pricey as it humps 2/3 of your allowance and doesn't include food or WIFI if i remember correctly. I done my final phase at the new college and teething problems aside which happens to all new buildings it is an excellent facility that was even better than the University i had went to. We complained that the Industrial experience program was ****e as it involved having 10 of us round an old motor and stripping it down then putting it back together with parts already missing but i think they have a brand new workshop area with running generator and new machineries that you can work on.

I don't know if they charged or whether it just wasn't installed in the new halls. I remember the boys who were in the halls across the road from the College St Judes i think it was called complaining that the WIFI was crap and they couldn't access porn or gambling sites on it. Also You Tube was blocked on it which is actually a pretty good tool during your college phase to learn as it has some decent tutorials on it. At £500 a month tho you would be able to get a decent 1 or 2 bedroom to rent but Clyde pretty much forced Cadets to stay in the halls. Heard it was a bit of a Con with the owner of Clyde having a vested interest as he was on the board of the College and made money on it but don't know if that was true.

WIFI is free , not the super speed for gaming obviously but decent enough for normal use and streaming, nothing is blocked.

The Riverside halls are nice but are managed ruthlessly. WiFi is included buts its a lot is blocked, though they're slowly unblocking things as enough people complain. They also have a ban against alcohol and gathering larger than a couple people.

I would advise you to stay away from the St Luke's accommodation as its not the best. It tends to get less attention than Riverside and isn't as nice.
