Minimum sea time for engine cadet

Hi guys just a quick question. Do you need a minimum of 8 months sea time as an engine cadet before being eligible for the MCA oral exam? I currently have 6 months and 5 days

Yes, 8 months

Phase 5 SPD engine cadet at city of Glasgow college. Doing a a combined motor and steam ticket.
