Yes I work for the big blue canoe company.

If you give Emma an email she should be able to let you know the people you are joining with. Or check your email that says you are joining and it may have the email addresses of the guys you are joining with.. Good luck!

The Grasmere Maersk is a frequent visitor to my hometown Fremantle (my house is right next to the port). If you get a chance to go ashore definitely have a wander through the streets or head up the beach to Cottesloe!

I'll be going on the Gairloch there soon. Is the beach/town actually close to the port, or is it like Ryanair where it's actually a half hour drive away?

You'll see as you sail in, pretty much our entire coastline is one big awesome beach haha. In fact one of Australia's best beaches (Cottesloe) is a 2min drive North from the port. You could walk it if you really wanted to.

Fremantle CBD is right next to the port - it's just the other side of the riverbank to the container terminal. Perth CBD is about a 20min drive up the river though.

Fremantle is a fun place. Some really nice places to eat and drink if you get the chance.

Fremantle is ace, the Mission there is really nice, it's a bit of a walk from the terminal as it's on the otherwise of the river, but it is/was a pleasant enough walk

The Mission used to do ace Sunday barbecues. It was the only place where you could get a beer on a Sunday.
