  • Life as a maersk cadet

    Hi

i am wondering what life is like onboard a maersk vessel.

    Working hours.

what to do in your free hours.

what an engine cadet much experience in the engine room.

what kind of things would you get to do.

    thanks any information should help.

What to expect in an engine room? Blood, sweat, tears and a fair bit of profanity and that's just from Chiefy!

Nah, in reality it's hot, humid and can be very physical on occasion, but it's the best part of the ship (unless it's at night, then that is the bridge wing). What you'll be doing exactly, best wait for Chiefy to give the advice but I imagine you'll be involved in pretty much everything, maintenance wise, as well being present for maneuvering and what not.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

All posts here represent my own opinion and not that of my employer.

      You rang?

Depending how many of u there are....most stand-bys in and out, daily counters and at other random times, TRB work, helijg engineers as 2e sees fit.

Just the usual to any other ship and as described repeatedly in other similar threads......

Yes I work for the big blue canoe company.
No I do not report things from here to them as they are quite able to come and read this stuff for themselves.

Sorry? In respect or relative to what? You work with an enginner you do what he / she / it does. Theres no "roles" whatever they me be when At home for a brew and biscuit
