Can anyone recomend a bag of sorts for my upcoming seaphase? Don't really know where to start. Or even a rough idea about how many litres it would be to be a decent enough size. Thanks!

Thanks! If its only a few weeks you can probably survive with a small case, if its 4-5 months then you'll need a bigger one.
I've used "Tripp" lightweight ones for past few years - medium size... you get them from Debenhams - used to use a large one, but then airlines started enforcing the max 23kg per bag policy, so I now use a medium sized one and a carry bag.?Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn?t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.?

generally I find about 80litres works out as 20kg and is enough for a 4 month trip, will depend on what sort of ships your joining, amount of uniform you carry etc, I prefer bags that can be folded flat or rolled up as it means your not sitting looking at it for the whole trip.
if you have to take more than one bag work out how you are going to move them around, and a decent bag for all the paperwork, laptop, things as hand luggageyou can take it with a pinch of salt, but i prefer it with a nip of whisky
