  • Notice of Entitlement Process

    Hi guys.

I recently submitted my TRB and all the supporting documentation to the MCA to get my NOE so I can go ahead and book my orals. This was sent via the Royal Mail's special delivery service back on the 5th, with the Royal Mail's website showing that it was signed for the following day, the 6th. Now from what I recall, the forms did state that I'd receive a confirmation email once the MCA recieved my TRB and documents, and it'd take 28 days to process. So far I've recieved nothing, which is making me concerned that the clock is ticking toward my sponsorship ending, and I'll find myself in a position whereby I can't work as I don't have my CoC as I'm waiting on the MCA.

Has anyone been through this process recently, and if so, did you find in practice that the MCA keep you updated via email as the forms seem to suggest? I suppose the lack of word from them is setting my imagination off running.

    Thanks, Mike.

I got an email a couple of days after royal mail delivered it so you should've had one by now. Email the deck and certification branch and ask them what's going on. They're are usually quite good at getting back to you.

        Email/Give em a call.

However, if it makes you feel any better, I never received any email at all, and I decided just to wait a wee while and see what happened. I finally decided to pop up and ask my course leader after a couple of weeks to see what he recommended, and he informed me that he had seen my stuff arriving at the main desk of the college only an hour previously!! SO I skeddadled across, and there was my NOE and TRB!!

But yeah, all the notificationy stuff never happened for me, and for several other guys in my class, and none of us could get the online trackery thing to work!!

Yeah the online tracker is fairly useless.

Yep, and if you're really lucky they will screw up and send the one email to 30 different people showing everyone else's email address like the one I received on Thursday.

On a side note - regardless of when they receive your stuff, they don't appear to actually do anything with it until the following Thursday (certainly anything I have ever sent them has never been touched until the Thursday) - my chief mates NOE took 7 weeks to come back to me in January.

Yeah that happened to me as well! Think they need to get their staff some IT lessons to show them how to use the BCC function.

They have actually ticked the back of my NOE to say I need to send them my HND written exam certificate for an OOW COC which I am confused about as this isn't a requirement

Erm, if you're on the foundation degree route then they probably mean that Although the college should send them the confirmation anyway on your behalf

They ticked all the wrong boxes on mine as well (and quite a few of my classmates) asking me to send them written exams certs etc for my coc to be issued when I am exempt from those. Just sent them everything I had including letter from the college to say I was exempt and it was fine.

I've completed my HNC, i'm hoping it's a tick in the wrong box as you can apply for the COC without the HND

Yeah you just need the hnc as proof of completing level 4.

Got a reply to my email enquiry today, stating that my application should be processed and a letter sent out by the 27th, which I thought a bit odd as they seem to be assuming that everything's fine, or they've already checked my documents and seem to be sitting on it for some reason.

Oh well, we'll have to see what happens.

I never got the whole NOE process. Seems like bureaucracy for the sake of bureaucracy. Couldn't people just rock up to their orals with the relevant documents have them looked over their and then.
