  • Help with TRB

I think I understand this section, however I just wanted to make sure before I go off to sea and get it wrong.

This is the 2011 TRB version, but should be the same in more recent versions.

    Section 4

    4.4 Ship operations
    Task number: B13.7 and B13.8

It states it may only be possible to complete one of B13.7 and B13.8 however both should be completed if opportunities arise.

So does this mean we are to FULLY complete (abcde) either B13.7 or B13.8? Not just one part of that task number?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to fully complete the one that's applicable to you (or both if you can). So it's all or nothing.

You need at least one fully completed. You can then either have the other empty, partially completed, or fully completed.

So for instance if you spent 10 months on container ships, and 2 months on a survey ship you would probably end up with 13.7 completed and 13.8 partly complete.

Ah, thanks that makes more sense now. I am on container ships regardless - this may be why it caused confusion.

Yeah if you do all of your training on container ships you can ignore the specialist operations sections and just do the cargo ones.
