    Just curious to ask if anybody knows starting salaries for newly qualified officers on the different cruise lines.
    Former TH cadet with experience of cruise ships, buoy tenders, research ships and oil tankers

    The big ones are all much of a muchness these days... low to mid twenties on a 4:2 rotation for third officer / eng.
    Cruise ship Captain with experience on-board Passenger Vessels ranging from 5500-150000 GRT.

      Started as Junior 3rd Mate on P&O in 2011 and was taking home ?23,445 p.a. annualised hours etc etc. Not bad, but not great!

        P&O (Carnival) third officer salary has gone up, not by a huge amount but enough to be competitive with the likes of the container companies. Contracts are now 12 weeks on 6 weeks off with a choice of twelve weeks on twelve weeks off with a lower salary.

            I can reveal that Disney Cruises pay very well.
