SO I've just done my first Stint on my sea phase and I've got 2 weeks off. I just found out am going back to the same ship. So my question is In my TRB do I treat it like a new ship and start writing the second ship section or just duplicate some pages like the testimonial and add it to the already complete first ship section?

    Anyone been in this situation?

Basically it's another ship, you fill in all the details again. Shouldn't be too hard if it's the same ship...

Details is easy just dont much fancy asking people to sign things they have already signed. Especially when there is so much other stuff to get signed off.

Why would they sign stuff they've already signed? You only have 1 set of tasks that needs signed... Only the ship specific part needs to be redone (if it includes safety stuff then thats only one page) - if they've already signed the specimen signature bit under "first ship" then obviously they don't need to provide them again.

On a side note when it comes to an end and odd days are added up how many days are in a month?

Yeah the MCA take 30 days to a month.

Don't worry about it, I have been on a few ships more than once quite a lot. Just get them to sign everything you can (obviously when you complete the task). Not to sure how the new TRBs work, I was with the old portfolio system nevertheless, principle is still the same!

Good luck with your cadetship xD

No, as far as I'm aware it would be a waste of time to fill in these details again for the same vessel. The familiarity tasks and vessel specifics state, 'ship 1, ship 2' - what would be the point in filling it all in again if you are returning to the same vessel?

I am using the old portfolio but I assume this would be the same for the new one.

Thats what I mean not the task but section designates ship one ship 2 and then un numbered ships. Basically its 2 pages on ships particulars, 1 page on familiarisation and several pages for sample signatures. Then the only bit that would be different the testimonial.

Be on the safe side and fill it in again. You've probably spent more time here asking the question than it would take for you to do it...

i only did one per ship, never did it twice for the same ship, i cant tell you if that was ok though because my trb/nvq was never assessed
