Well done North Star Shipping is a great company to work for i have been with them for 2 years now. So the good news is travel they go to America and Africa but you will be based in Aberdeen, they normally send you to America first that so they can get your visa over with then you get a few months in Africa. Who knows may see you in first phase of sea time.. Good luck

I dont know what Engineboy is talking about North Star do not send you to America or Africa as ALL of their fleet are based in the north sea.

I have 10 months sea time with North Star and will be doing my Orals come Summer time.

They have 3 supply vessels at the moment with 2 new coming 2012/13 and approx 20 standby vessels.

You will be working in the UK Offshore sector and the only foreign experience you may get is a Norweigan crew change . Rest of the time it is UK ports ; Aberdeen , Peterhead , Lerwick.

The company are very good and so is the training but beware it is NOT for everyones taste

What rubbish was that? North Star is all based in North Sea!

I've had a few friends with North Star and to be totally honest, from what they've said it doesn't sound like the best outfit to work for. However, it is all about getting the CoC so go for it!

Thanks guys wasnt sure what to expect from North Star. I did alot of travelling when I was growing up so not really bothered if I dont go anywhere.

Ive heard from a friend (who i spoke to recently) that they are a good company so go for it!
