Torch types

Hey guys,

Ok so I was looking around the forum as most of us do, looked through some kit lists for going away, I am not away until May, but I have been trying to get a feel for what I need to take. Now I have also been told taking a torch is a very good idea. I was basically wondering what is the best type, value for money, most durable etc etc I have heard different stories, was wondering what others have experienced on here

Depends on what you plan on doing with it. The ship will have explosive environment safe torches for use. If just for general use, I take an LED torch with me with a red filter, for fumbling around the bridge at night.

Seeing as you are an engine cadet, I noticed all the Motormen buying explosive safe head torches in Botlek stores when we were in Rotterdam, so I presume they are useful for engineers.
