Its been a month and a half for me so far and I know another fellow cadet with the same company is still also waiting. Just wondering if there are any other phase 2 cadets out there waiting to get started!?

I know of someone who waited a few months - don't worry, they'll get you your seatime. You have almost 12 months to get it on your second sea phase, and about 8 months on this phase.sigpicHello! I'm Chris. I'm away a lot so I'm sorry if it takes me a while to reply to messages, but I promise I'll get back to everyone. If it's urgent, please email me directly at [email protected].

We are a bit different this time actually CD. Because our class was small they are merging us with the cadets who start this September in September 2012, which means this phase is the 12 month phase and our second sea phase is the shorter one, effectively swapping sea phases around.

I'm quite surprised it's taking this long to get you a ship, i'd have imagined they'd have got you one fairly quickly. I think they tend to put the cadet's on the Ro/Ro's?I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

Thanks for the advice GuinnessMan! I'll keep a look out for the SMS. I'm not too sure if its just ro/ro's or the PCTC's as well at the moment. I phoned Clyde the other week and they said quite a few cadets with Wilhelmsen are still waiting, my mate is with the same sponsor and he is yet to hear anything so as of yet I am not too worried, just bored! I was hoping for the new Tonsberg, it looks immense!

The people I know with Wilhelmsen have all gone on PCCs, as I say though, not heard anything bad.
We have the same with my company's SMS. Don't know why they can't just call it the SMS! With us it's Fleet Regulations.sigpicHello! I'm Chris. i am still waiting, i was told on the 9th August that i would be joining my ship on the 16th September, bad enough for a long wait, but okay. At least i had a date.
i was then told that i would be joining the same ship 12 days earlier, on the 4th September. HAPPY DAYS!
So the 31st of September came, and i had no flight details, so I rang Clyde marine to find out that my berths had been cancelled and there were continently going to ring me just before I had called them. The reason for cancellation is that you "cant have 3 engineer cadets on the same ship", well it has been planned for a month and the other two engineer cadets are from my college and my class mates. So they knew about that from the 7th of September when the other two cadets left!
tbh i think that they are just making up excuses, and I now have no idea when or where I am going.
needless to say, i am gutted and pissed off!
J"My Job"
It's not my place to run the boat
the fog horn I can't blow.
It's not my place to say just where
the boat's allowed to go
It's not my right to dock the boat
or even clang the bell
But let the damn thing
start to sink AND SEE WHO CATCHES HELL!

If you have met and know a representative of your sponsor, then I recommend speaking to them. Thats what I did. I would call them every two or three days when I was a cadet as it took them three months to find me a berth. In all fairness to my sponsor I was extra baggage they didn't expect when they entered into the management agreement with my sponsor.....I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....
