for MAIB etc Authorship, which may be part of the title. Year. Title, in italics if a separate element, Offically assigned number such as a Command number as it is on the document, within brackets, Place of publication: Publisher is probably the best format

theres also formats for any SI's that you use which would be good for certain M notices, for anything thats not a book all your trying to do is make sure that someone can pick up your report and then go to the correct document to see what you have quoted and if its right. quoting web pages its also important to include the date/time accessed as stuff can be deleted and then become un traceable (which is great all you do is host everything on your own dodgy website and then once its referenced and before the report is handed in you cna delete the required pages )

For referencing purposes, any ideas on what goes where for things like STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, M-Notices, MAIB reports? For example, who's the author and publisher, how to word the title etc...?
