well I flew KLM operated by Delta and it was 2*23kg which sucked - would have preferred one large bag

yup KLM are 2x20 (max allowance 20kg NOT 46kg)

Mind I still cant work out why you need that much even as a cadet I had 1 case (still use it now) and never went over 24kg EVER that was before reaching the point I cna leave stuff on board, might dig out one of my old packing lists and see what it is that I took!

No I do not report things from here to them as they are quite able to come and read this stuff for themselves.

What outfits have you worked for and what was their uniform policy? Packing personal gear is easy, it's uniform that takes up the second bag. Although if we're just talking about engineers, a dirty boiler suit doesn't take up much room so they've no excuses. :P

          LOL
P&O Containers and APM-M for uniform I only ever took 2 short sleeved and 1 long sleeved shirt, 1 pr black tousers and 1 pr black shoes.....that was it, nowadays I carry 1 short sleeved shirt and 1pr trousers.
Was looking at what I used to take and it was roughly as below:-
          2 short sleeved uniform
          1 long sleeved
          1 uniform trousers
          stripes
          uniform shoes
          3 boiler suits
          safety boots
          ear defenders
          10pr (ish) undies
          10pr (ish) socks
          couple of pairs of shorts
          couple or so nice t-shirts
7 ER t-shirts (even then I liked wearing a t-shirt under my boiler suit)
          long sleeved top
          1 pr jeans (maybe)
remember you have gear on when you join and witha quick wash they are good for going ashore in
          wash gear for 3 months
          contact lenses for 3 months
          sweets
          that was about it
          oh and towel (H2G2 !!)
          Flip-flops / sandals
          trainers

hand luggage had the cd wallet (pre mp3 player) cd player, extension speakers and any other bits and bobs

really think some people bring way to much crap with them
