Windstar Vessels

Hi there!

I'm due to join the Windsurf vessel of the Windstar fleet at the beginning of December and was wondering if anyone has any tips? I've never been on a cruise ship and wondered how it works as I have only been on cargo ships. I understand that Windstar vessels are a little different to the conventional cruise ships and if anyone has been on them I would love to hear your experiences.

Hi Sarah, I just heard that I'm joining the same ship, 5th Dec! We'll be sharing a cabin I guess, can't wait!! Is this your second trip? I've been on a cruise ship before, but it was nothing like this is going to be I think, this will be much smaller and hopefully a little less formal I'm so stoked, I got into the MN from sailing, so this is my ideal placement!

Personally, I still prefer a cargo that doesnt talk back....

First sea trip? This is our second sea phase! I agree that cargo that doesn't talk back is good, but this one sounds SO much more chilled out than life on a Cunard Ship, and also I am a canvas and rigging geek....

Size4, I expect lots of blogging!

I wouldn't expect tall ship experience from Windstar though - the sails and rigging are all controlled remotely (hydraulically I believe) and they have some sort of complicated ballast transfer system to get rid of heel - can't be having the ship leaning over during dinner!

Oh I know, but it's still rigging, I'll be running up there to do repairs at every opportunity!! Blogging, yep, will see what I can do, but don't expect me to forgo valuable sunbathing time!!
