  • Vroon Offshore

    Hi,

I'm sponsored by Vroon Offshore and was was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them? What is their training programme like? Also, whats the chances of being offered a job at the end of my cadetship?

    Thanks (:

Lydia our training officer said there's a high chance of Vroon cadets getting a job in the end (:

      Re: Vroon Offshore

A couple of guys in my class are with Vroon and I have nae heard them complaining about much so I am assuming they are alright. They seem to be a company fairly used to having cadets so you can expect a pretty structured program at sea.

Ahh interesting. One of my lecturers worked for Vroon Offshore, they sound pretty good, just not what I wanted...I wanted reefers/container ships, not offshore support vessels, especially not in the North Sea.

                    Re: Vroon Offshore

Vroon are one of the bigger offshore companies, so there's a really good chance you'll get offered a job at the end of yr gadgetship. There are plenty of jobs for Brits and dutch, plus their supply fleet has quite a few DP vessels, so there is a good chance for you to get some of the required time in for yr cert as a dp operator.

In basic terms DPO + 2/O tickets = BIG money, so try to get that in, unless of course yr an engineer in which case the experience is still good to have. VOS also have ships elsewhere other than the north sea, so travel and warm weather abound!
