I'm interested in working as an ETO/Engineer. I ve done research in to the differing career paths and have realised that ETO is more suitable to my ambitions, experience and would be happier playing there.
However at 33yrs old whats the chance's of finding my way in to the industry?
I couldn't afford and dont know if it's possible to do the training independantly, so a sponsorship/cadet programme I assume is the only route.
I've previous electrical experience, working for 15yrs as a JIB registered electrician, with the required qualifications for this; City & Guilds 236 in Electrical Engineering etc.
I realise that this may not be an advantage as lots of training is involved in the course.
If it isn't viable I'm genuinely interested in maritime/off shore work. Does anybody have some helpful information on other career routes? Websites, anything?
Cheers
