Thanks for the advice, hopefully my CMT interview will help me. but its always nice for a bit more help.
In the event that I get an offer from SSTG and CMT (fingers crossed), which is better? I have heard good things about both but people seem to like SSTG more, but I think I like the look of CMT's sponsors.

Have your "good boy" folder ready to hand when you go in. Search the forums for what I mean.

First of all relax. You have made it to the interview and therefore they believe you have something to offer them. Now the job is yours to lose. Now smile, firm handshake, good eye contact and strong positive language. (Wipe you hands if you have sweaty palms!) Remember to go to the bathroom before you go in - nothing worse than wriggling whilst you are trying to concentrate.

Secondly, be yourself. Interviewers are experienced people and know when you are spinning them a yarn. Be honest with them. You can sometimes be a little economic with your answers but never elaborate or lie. It will find you out.

Next - skills match. Remember to think about every question you are asked and think "what are they looking for?" Don't be afraid to ask if you have answered the question if you are unsure of your answer.

Next - don't gibber or ramble. If you have answered their question shut up! If there is a pause of a minute then don't be afraid to ask if you have answered the question.

Finally remember to ask them for the job if you are still interested. I don't mean "gizza job mate" - I mean "Thank you for your time today, it has been really interesting and made me want to do a cadetship with your organisation and I look forwards to hearing from you soon."

    Go in booted and suited.

    Enough?

Oh - you want the answers to all the questions they will ask?

    That will be extra sir..................

    I am kidding of course!

    Good luck,

    Ian

    SSTG interview

After a month of silence from SSTG I have finally got an interview invitation. A month and a half ago I also had an interview for Clyde marine at STC, but I have yet to hear back as my information is being kept on file.
So while I don't have the the biggest confidence in getting a positive reply from Clyde, I would like to make sure that I have the highest chance of acceptance with SSTG.

So can anyone give me any advice or tips so I don't have to sit for a few months till the next intake.
Working...
