  • Waiting times?!

    Hi There,

I have put applications/cv's in to SSTG and Anglo Eastern.

It has been a week since I applied, what are the usual response times?
I got an email from Anglo Eastern asking for my CV on top of my application I have now sent this.. what do you think this means?
SSTG are yet to reply but I phoned last monday 15/04 to check if they received my application, which they did.
    Any ideas?

If Anglo-eastern have asked for a copy of your CV, it means they're considering your application - and will be in touch if they decide to offer you an interview.
If SSTG has said they've received your application, there's nothing you can do now but wait, and hope. From what I've heard, they're usually pretty quick in offering you an interview though.

Unfortunately sponsoring companies don't work at the speed of light - give them chance to go through the motions. In the meantime, you could apply to other places (like CMT, Bibby etc).

    Good luck.
Pointy bit is the front, blunt bit is the back... Simples!

    Will work for money/sea time.

Keep ringing and ask if they're still processing the applications, when they'll be contacting you, when they'll be holding interviews, etc. Don't worry about being a pest, makes you look keen and can often pay off. I ended up getting my interview because I kept ringing every week or so and chasing up my application and I've also been able to get some good feedback from the ones I've not got interviews for.
      Insert profound quote here.

I got that same email from Anglo in February for my CV and sent it heard nothing and emailed them just under a month later and they said they can't get any insurance for under 18's so I am being considered for Jan/Sept 2015. But they never emailed me before to let me know. Then once I got my offer I emailed them so they didn't waste time next year and got a instant thank you/good luck reply so your best off emailing and asking the current status under your application.
