CMT interview. sponsoring companies?

hi, i have my CMT engineer interview on wednesday. Ive read all the threads on preparation and questions. Im just wondering how much about sponsor companies they ask? or is it more a case of listing a few so they know youve done some research? Thanks in advance guys.

You should definitely learn about all types of the ships they deal with (you should have received a email attachment on this subject)
and definitely learn a number of companies that they recruit for, and look into the ones that interest you.

Yerhh What he said , In my interview i named alot of the companies , It may be good to know what they do Like Bulk , Container , May help out aswell

Cheers guys. I've studied the attatchment I was sent and some other general information on ships. I've looked at a few sponsor companies aswel, just wasn't sure if they would ask what the companies specialise in or what goods they deliver or if it was just a case of naming the companies.
I'm pretty nervous about it tbh, hopefully it goes well

I'm sure at my interview they asked me if I had looked at their sponsoring companies, then I spoke about ones I wanted to pick. Then I was asked about that companies ship types and shipping routes. Good luck for tomorrow

Hi all, new here and rather than starting my own thread, this seems the place to put my queries! I applied to CMT only about a week ago, and got an email with a letter attached saying they were processing my application through the system and would be in contact regarding interview! So, fingers crossed! Anyone who's gone through it with CMT - is this generally a good sign? Also, where are the interviews held?
My next question is about the sponsor companies. How does it work? Are you assigned a sponsor company, or do you have to pick the one(s) you'd want to work for?

Yeah it's a good sign means you've passed the aptitude test and your application is being considered
I'm Scottish so can only speak for interviews there, it was in Glasgow at their building in Hillington Park.
The way it works with sponsor companies is that once you have done the interview and you get sponsorship they will then send you documents you have to complete for them to start getting you enrolled and you also get a booklet containing a detailed description for each of there companies, then there is a form for you to complete when you pick your 3 top companies you would like to be sponsored by and they try get you with one of your choices if they can't you will be assigned to another one of their companies.

Was the ones I had picked, was going to put Chevron for my second choice I read online they don't take many cadets from Glasgow.

I'm not sure how it really works I think they send your file off to the 3 companies you've chosen and if any want to sponsor you the company that was highest on your list gets you, if your 3 chosen companies are interested you get a place with the next available company that has a place.
