SSTG - Post Interview Responses

Hi all,

I had my interview with SSTG on the 10th of February this year and I still haven't received a response since then even though my interview went well and they were happy with me. I can't decide on whether to wait it out or chase it up. Anyone else still waiting for written confirmation?

I was told a couple of weeks ago which company I'm going to be sponsored by, and have since recieved written confirmation. Were you given a list of companies and asked to number them according to preference? Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

When I attended the interview they said that I was successful and just needed to wait two weeks for written confirmation before we could proceed further. It's been 3 weeks now and still haven't received it. I called them up to chase it up and they said that I didn't get back to them with my companies of choice and so assumed I wasn't interested which is not true. I actually gave my choices in the interview. What do I do now? I'm panicking slightly because if they are full does that mean that I have to reapply again for January or Sept next year?

Don't panic!

Explain to them (nicely) that you never recieved any letter about choosing your preferred sponsors, or any written confirmation. As long as you're calm, and polite i'm sure they'll try and help you any way they can.

Just in case though, I'd apply to other companies - if you haven't already.

Well in the interview, Steve specifically told me not to make my choices there and then, because he stressed that it was important for me to research the companies first. He told me that I had fourteen days until they needed to know my companies of choice. I would personally try and get hold of them straight away, and make it clear that you've been placed under a misapprehension - and then see what happens. If worst comes to worse, I know that Carisbrooke, Bibby and James Fisher and Sons have just started taking applications, so try and get hold of them. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for the advice. They got back to me today and I think everything is getting put in order. By the looks of things my offer still stands. Phew! I'm impressed by how quickly they dealt with it too!
