  • Shipping geography

Got a interview & exam for engineering cadetship. I'm ok with maths & company etc. But shipping geography has me stumped. What type of things will they want to know.

    Thanks for any help

Not sure as I've never heard the term before, but I would imagine that it would cover things like where in the World major ports are, where the Panama and Sewage Canals are and which oceans they join, where the various oceans and seas are.
    Go out, do stuff

Panama Canal is in Panama, the Sewage Canal is in Egypt, which is really quite appropriate.

*Suez canal, (Just to stop the horrible visions I just had of the OP actually refering to the sewage canal in their interview....)

I was beginning to wonder but couldn't be bothered checking google. So do seafarers called the Sewage canal then?

I had an interview last week, and that was the first where any geography questions were asked. The first question was: What is the most economical route from Southampton to New York (pretty simple), and second was what is the most economical route from Southampton to Australia.
