  • Interview Preperation

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know any good books about the merchant navy and life at sea that I can read? I have an interview with SSTG soon and I am hoping that by reading some non fiction or biographical books this will show that I have put in a good level of research into my chosen career path and obviously give me more to talk about during interview.

Any help would really be appreciated, cheers guys!

The two by David Babaolene (I reckon is the pen name of Hatchorder). It's shipping from a different era, but entertaining none the less

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

Down To The Sea In Ships by Horatio Clare.

My Father is reading it at the moment. This book gives a true outline of what work is like onboard a merchant vessel. I strongly recommend it.
