After months and months of applicatiobs , I have been offered a place with BP! I am going to accept. I couldn't have done it without all the valuable advice on this forum, so thanks.

Now that I have spent ?300 on travel for 2 more interviews I have to cancel them. It does not seem right going when I know I am not going to accept.
Just got to sort out visa etc. Fingers crossed they send me to Fleetwood. South Hampton is literally the other end of the country.

Have they given you a date that you have to accept by?

If you don't need to accept before the other interviews then I would go along and see what they have to say, especially if you have already paid for travel to them.

BP are a fantastic company to train with and unless your other interviews are from companies of a similar calibre then you would do well to go with them, but keep as many options open as you can for as long as you can.

Not specific date given to accept by. My interviews were with Anglo Eastern who were recruiting for rio Tinto. And then James Fishers. Fishers were my second choice.

I am just going to try and change my flights to another day, I visit the Mainland Every few months anyway. Would only lose money for the trains then.

Thanks! I am buzzing! I can't believe I am going back to study for 3 years. I swore after my degree I would never go back to studying, but after 12 months in an office i cannot wait to get back!

Could use the flights to go and do some early Christmas shopping. You should in theory get any taxes back for cancelling, but as normal the airlines have a way of charging fees for handling that mean you don't get anything back. If you accept BP do you know if you have to go and see them again in teh near future you could then just change them to another date perhaps?

Yeah, got me a fortune to change them , but less than it would be to cancel. I was going away in Dec anyway. So all sorted. I am not sure, I have only just sent away my acceptance and bank details and next of kin information. So now i just have to wait. I will need to get my medical, which i assume can be done on island. Then i have to get a US visa, but have no idea how to do that as of yet.

There's a guide on the MCA website for which doctors are registered to carry out an ENG1.

The visa might need you to pay a visit to the embassy!
