Hi just had my interview with CMT on Wed and I feel it went well, what my questions are ,

1. I am 16 do you think this will go against me ?

2.Is there anyone else going to Glasgow in Jan intake,

3.How long will I need to wait to be told if I'm in or not.

Your age will not count against you - they were sufficiently interested in you to offer an interview and they will base their decision on how you performed.

I had my interview last Thursday and I had a response by Tuesday. I'm going to Glasgow in January. Good luck!

Could be as little as a few days, could be as long as a few months. People here got told by CMT they had a place the week before term started. Good Luck!

Yeah I heard about that. My interviewer said that it was massive cock up and it won't happen again. Suppose it will have to be seen to be believed but I think they are trying to have it all sorted by early December. At least that is what I took from what she said, without her actually saying it...

I got my email on Friday and it was a no so I wont be there good luck hope all goes well.

That's unfortunate. Have you applied anywhere else? Plenty other companies out there! Can always wait till the September intake anyway when there should be more places available.

Hi Chino, I am with Clyde at Fleetwood, I found out just over a week before I was due to start, so be prepared to wait right up until the last minute, don't be afraid to ring them up every couple of weeks and remind them gently that your keen and still waiting for a reply. Being 16 will not count against you at all, if anything it helps, as someone like me who has been out of the school system for last 3 years its been a little testing settling back into the "college routine", so you should find it pretty straight forward just carrying on. And then finally, congratulations on choosing a career in the merchant navy, great choice! Good luck and enjoy the ride
