    Hi Guys

I'm just wondering what is the policy in the MN with regards to alcohol?

I know on things such as the Cruises crew are aloud to drink, but what about Cargo vessles. Does each company have different policies?

    Cheers

      Re: Alcohol

The general rule is close to the UK drink driving rule.

Officially, you are not allowed to have more than 2 units at any one time. This is enforced however the ship sees fit. In reality it's up to the individual. If you're caught slammed and dancing round on a table in one of the ship's restauants, expect to be going home.

This is not a problem on cargo, but remember that standard company policy in the event of an accident is to breathalize the bridge crew, this is the same cargo or cruise. If you're found over the limit Cadet/3rd Officer/Captain, you're all equally knackered

I sure a sensible attitude is all that is needed. A six-pack to yourself is sure to not go down well I would have thought.

Sorry for the off-topic but do you happen to have any pics from OOCL cadets that I could see? Can't really find any pics on 'tinternet from cadets with them.

Depends where and with whom you drink it and how long it is before you're supposed to be on duty!

Depends on your company mate, but I think the general rule is the drink drive limit and no alcohol within four hours of going on duty....
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....
