  • UCAS points

    Hi,
Hope this makes sense. I am currently doing AS level exams , and I have looked up the UCAS tables.
I see that I can achieve enough UCAS points at this stage to be able to apply. However if next year I
was to have a bad set of exams and achieve low grades, would this be a problem with sponsoring companies?

I don't think that it would make a huge difference with companies. However, you need the UCAS points to get into the college course so remember that it is important that you get the marks/grades you need. But I wouldn't beat yourself up about it if you don't get the results you want. You would just need to explain to the company that you have so many UCAS points now and that you need so many more to get into the course but what would happen if you were so many off? Im sure that they will see that your a hard working student and it may persuade them that you didnt fail on purporse. Good Luck with your exams and the future

Yes I know it's the college that requires the ucas points, so if I have enough UCAS points at AS level, then what happens if I get lower than expected next year at A level?

I'm at AS level too, and as I understand it if you get less than in your first year you retain your first year points. You've got to have a pretty major mess-up to do that though!!!

Yep mate ,had a good look at this since I posted. You can actually drop in grades and earn more points. So as you say, has to be major screw up .
Just exam time panic from me,ok now.
