  • had interview HOWEVER

Hi folks just had my interview with CMT and it went really well if anybody is waiting for theirs to come up then just make sure you have plenty of research and you should be fine, the interviewer i had was really professional and put you at ease

In my interview they went over my application in which on the section of criminal charges or cuotions i selected no however i did mention in the interview i got fined for not wearing a seatbelt which i paid, the interviewer did mention that the fact i never declared this could be a problem however the interview carried on. I honestly didnt think that this fine which was a good 4 year ago woukld get mentioned however maybe i was being ignorant. Has anybody had a issue like this ?? im really worried that this could be percieved that i am dishonest.

I really want to get into this course would be gutted if this indesgretion ruined my chances.

Shouldn't have mentioned it, if it was more than 2 years ago I'm sure it's considered as spent and doesn't really mean anything. But then again wtf do I know!

I'm pretty sure driving offences don't count as an conviction for the purposes of job applications.

Driving offences dont count as 'criminal convictions' else I would be in a bad place...

Some Driving Offences ARE criminal, Hit and Run, Death by Dangerous Driving etc. Driving without a seatbelt is an Offence, not a crime so it won't affect you in anyway for visa's etc...and you don't have to disclose being fined for not wearing a seatbelt and stuff like that.

Driving without a seat belt on, like most traffic offences, are crimes but they are not notifiable crimes, hence why you don't normally need to declare them. Death by dangerous, Careless driving, etc are notifiable crimes and have to be declared.

To be honest, I can't really see it being a problem for anything and I do think it was a bit daft mentioning it....

I wasn't even driving i was a passenger and basically in the car for approx 8-10 secs before we passed a junction where the police were sitting. Call it interview nerves but i honestly didnt think it was a issue i just hope they dont think i am dishonest... i thought this industry was full of tough, up and at them sea-men, surely a (seat-belt offence) should be small beer

So who exactly got the ticket then? You or the driver? (And I mean officially, not just who had to pay)
