Carisbrooke interview

Hello,

I have an interview with Carisbrook shipping tomorrow (not held in the highest regards amongst cadets i am aware, but i need to get a ticket somehow)

I was wondering, is anyone here with them? What should i expect? I have tried to read up on them but there is little information online and i was sent nothing.

Carisbrooke are definitely up and coming amongst the companies.

You should expect with them: A dedicated training manager, who along with the rest of the company is genuinely interested in your progress; A nice, close knit family feel to the company, who are really close by (you can almost see their offices from Warsash!).

Ships are, as you know, small trampers, deployed around the world, although there are three main trading areas: Europe/North Africa, America/Caribbean and the Far East.

Officers are generally Eastern European, with a few English guys and the ratings are from Cape Verde and the Philippines.

Looks like a good company, do some research on the company and fleet, read up one what a bulk carrier is. Know a little bit about ships, front and back. Have a good answer ready for why you want to go to sea.

Hi mate, i got a call and he told me that if you have not been successful you will get a letter, so if still no letter no news might be good news?

Erm yes he did tell me that. My interview was on the 24th of April and he said I may phone you next Thursday or Friday or if not it will be the week after. Its Friday Tomorrow the last possible day and he's not phoned and one of my references insists she has not been phoned so I am nervous to say the least. Thanks for replying and congrats on you getting your place as well.
