  • Maersk reply

It would be great if anyone who receives a letter from maersk telling they have passed/failed their interview for Sept2013 intake. Would be a great help to know when to expect my letter and to see who's got in

Congratulations jj, you need to change your avatar to the Borg logo, sorry Maersk.
Good luck, and enjoy your cadetship.

Hahaha. I like it. I remember when I was 3/0 we had a captain who was RNR. He insisted on flying a blue duster on the stern. The crew argued that we were red duster people and so threw his flag overboard and replaced it. He even insisted on having meetings like a military tribunal for errant crew - "March them in Bosun!". Unfortunately as the crew were a British crew, mostly from Liverpool, he was on a hiding to nothing. He replaced the flag and had some more sent to him by his wife. By the end of the voyage 4 more flags had met the same fate mysteriously!

He turned up to head office in RNR uniform one day and was asked why he was not dressed properly!

        Hey Ho!

Well done to ALL of you that got in. A few things to remember though. It ain't over until ....

                  1) Your letter of acceptance is sent off, and remember to thank them for having the confidence in you to offer you a job.

                  2) Your signed contract is back with Maersk

                  3) Your ENG1 is in your grubby little mitts

                  4) You have a valid US Visa stamp in your passport!

Now go celebrate and relax, but not too much if your offer is also conditional on this year's grades - go start revising instead!

                  Well done.

                  Ian
