Booked my medical for Friday, but they said I can only do the lantern test after I fail the Ishihara test.

    Lets see what happens!

Failed the lantern test, but I have an unrestricted ENG1 as an Engineer which I guess is better than nothing! I have my interview tomorrow so lets see how it goes!

      Thanks for all the support!

I am really sorry to hear that. But I have to say I admire your passion, and the fact that you want to go to sea no matter what. I think that it will show willing and be taken as a positive with potential employers. Hang in there and good luck with the interview tomorrow.

Hi, I'm going for my ENG1 medical this week. I've applied for Engineer Cadet with Clyde Marine, I already know I'm colourblind (told CMT in application). Saltydog, does your medical have a restriction on it for the likes of handling colour coded cables unattended? Cheers.

I had my medical last week with CMT and i failed the color blind test therefore i have two restrictions, not to do cable work alone and not fit for look out duties. Going for the lantern test at the end of the month, hopefully i can get my unrestricted Eng 1. Anyone know if clyde still interview at the end on January ?

Watt95...I had my Lantern test today mate. I fail the Ishihara test plates but pass the City test. If you have a red/green deficiency, passing the Lantern test is going to be hard mate. But give it a shot buddy.
